About the project
EXPLORING PLUREALITIES stands out in the national landscape through an innovative multidimensional approach and alternative transdisciplinary activities in the field of contemporary arts and performance. It aims towards audience development and support for contemporary art’s creators in partnership with Norwegian artist Mette Edvardsen and in cooperation with Romanian and international artists and professionals. Creating a favorable framework for the reinforcement of contemporary art through opportunities for professional development - participatory creation process, job shadowing and mentoring, the project proposes a progressive approach, based on analysis and prospecting of innovative directions, by identifying and supporting hybrid artistic formats. The support of multidisciplinary artistic production and intercultural collaboration acts as a catalyst for 20 new creations and a bilateral partnership within the 24 months of the project. 4 creative laboratories, gathering over 15 local artists and 4 mentors/mentorship teams, will generate new creations dedicated to both offline and online space. Furthermore, Mette Edvardsen will coordinate the production of a local performing art piece adaptation. These activities aim to explore the artistic potential in addressing issues relevant to contemporary society, to encourage the exchange of ideas and interdisciplinary experience, national and international mobility, intergenerational dialogue. Aiming towards audience development for contemporary art, 2 public platforms of presentation will be created in offline and online space, addressing an audience of 2.000 spectators within 18 months. In order to gather the attention of the general audience for the multidisciplinary cultural product, the project invites the public to join in the studio space of WASP Bucharest for 2 artistic symposiums, as well as in the online platform through webinars, digital creations, interviews. The symposiums and the online platform are dedicated to the promotion of hybrid creations resulting from multidisciplinary artistic processes and intercultural cooperation. The process of audience development and the creations of new artistic products requires the increase of operational capacity of the organization. This will be achieved by increasing the number of employees and by improving the quality of professional training for the members of the team. Given the complexity of the realities faced by both artists and the audience, the organizational structure will expand with two new professional profiles: creative producer and facilitating curator, designed to strengthen the potential of the team members as facilitators between different artistic sectors and cultural milieus, but also between different social groups and specific interests. Cultural entrepreneurship support for the contemporary arts will materialize through the creation of 5 new jobs and the professional development of 7 experts within the project time frame.
The general goal of the project
Developing new audiences for contemporary art by supporting the production and promotion of multidisciplinary artistic creations, bilateral intercultural cooperation and cultural entrepreneurship.
